Why shade screens

Stop Sun Damage Before It Hits the Glass

Direct sun can make rooms hotter, increase glare, and fade furniture, flooring and interior finishes over time. Exterior solar screens are designed to reduce sun exposure before it reaches your window glass, while still allowing natural light and outward visibility.

  • Reduce direct sun exposure and glare
  • Help protect furniture, flooring and finishes from UV fade
  • Keep airflow and an outward view through the screen
  • Choose the shade level that fits each window

We don't promise specific energy savings; results depend on your home, window direction and screen selection. We'll give you an honest recommendation.

Questions?

Questions Before You Book?

Quick answers on screens, repairs and the install process.

Do shade screens really help with heat and glare?

Yes. Exterior solar screens are designed to reduce sun exposure before it reaches the window glass, which can help reduce glare, solar heat gain and UV exposure. Results vary by window direction, screen choice and home, so we don't make exact savings claims but most homeowners notice a clear difference, especially on west-facing rooms.

Which should I choose: SunScreen 70, SunTex 80 or 90?

SunScreen 70 is the lightest option — more airflow, a clearer outward view and protection against tiny insects, with lighter UV blockage. SunTex 80 (Pet Screen) is a heavy-duty pet-resistant solar mesh that still lets in good natural light. SunTex 90 (Super Solar) is the strongest shade with the most privacy — ideal for hot west-facing windows. We'll recommend the right option per window based on direction, sun exposure and your comfort goals.

Can you repair my existing shade screens, or do I need new ones?

Often we can repair them by re-screening, re-framing or replacing damaged hardware. If the frame is past its life or the fabric is brittle, we'll tell you honestly if replacement is the better value.

What frame colors do you offer?

White, Mill and Black, on a 1″ × 0.4″ extruded aluminum frame. Most homeowners match existing trim or window color. We'll bring physical samples to your quote.

How long does a typical install take?

Most shade screen installs are completed in a single visit once screens are built. From quote to finished install, the typical timeline is one to two weeks depending on size, color and current schedule.

Do you charge for quotes?

No. In-home quotes across the Phoenix area are free with no pressure to book.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Shade the Way is licensed and insured in Arizona.

Will shade screens make my rooms too dark?

SunScreen 70 keeps the most natural light and outward view. SunTex 80 keeps a good amount of natural light in a heavier weave. SunTex 90 noticeably darkens a room while giving the strongest shade and privacy. We'll match each window to the right option.

What happens if a screen tears later?

Most damage is repairable. We'll come back, assess it and either re-screen or recommend replacement depending on what's most cost-effective.

Do you service rentals and HOA-restricted homes?

Yes, we work with landlords, property managers and HOA-restricted communities regularly. Check with your HOA on approved colors before we arrive and we'll match.
